Gather up an old washcloth, a plastic water bottle, a large rubber band, and some bubble solution. Follow the instructions<\/a> carefully, using just one-third or one-quarter of the bar; if you toss\u00a0in the whole bar, your soap blob will grow to mammoth proportions. Also allow\u00a0the \u201csoap cloud\u201d to cool for a bit and test the temperature yourself before letting kids touch it. It\u2019s also a great place to find summer projects like this brushbot<\/a>, which was created by a Ph.D., and includes a materials list, complete instructions, and ideas for ways to \u201cexplore more\u201d once the project is complete. Take a look at their \u201cAwesome Science for Summer Break!<\/a>\u201d page for more cool ideas, including how to make a paper speaker, build a mini trebuchet, and generate electricity with a lemon battery.
