The Bharathanatyam classes are very systematic and in detail. IFDA offers small groups and one on one on requests.The best part is the theory lessons and log books that make it intresting for the kids.Over all IFDA is the best place for Bharathanatyam classes in the Bay Area.For me it has been a fully satisfying and a great place to dance.
My kid has been learning Bharathanatiyam at IFDA since last 2-3 years. The teachers are disciplined and they provide some theory along with practical dancing steps. This helps kids understand why the effort that they put in to learn this dance form is so so important.Being trained in this classical form has helped my kid to grow as a better overall dancer and enjoy her dances.

I have been a student in the Adult Semi-classical group within IFDA for the past 2 years and have had a blast with the variety that the instructors offer in this school. They try to pick memorable themes for their dance numbers so it becomes more than just tapping your feet. You get to "feel" the theme with some drama and emotion thrown into the mix. The kids' lessons that are offered here also provide many styles to choose from so if your child prefers a certain style over another, you are sure to get it here. The instructors are also very supportive of the busy lifestyles that most of us here go through and help everyone come up to speed. And there is no age barrier too!
