This is our first time with this cooking camp, and we are so thrilled by our experience. Our 12yo daughter attended and everyday she came home with some very impressive project that she completed that day. First day was cake-pops, which our whole family enjoyed. Second day was muffins where she made such amazing creations out of them. Our daughter brought home a "hamburger" muffin and a pizza muffin to share. I was blown away by the realism of the "meat patty" in her "hamburger" muffin. Everyday she brought home amazing works of art! She tells me that the teacher actually have the kids do most of the work- so lots of hands on learning. For her final project, she made a Dr. Seuss Lorax World. Every inch of that cake was covered with Fondant grasses, trees, a pound, mushrooms, and the character Lorax. By the end of camp, my daughter really learned how to make impressive fondant characters. We love this camp! Kids actually learned something by the end unlike other cooking camps we've gone to where it's all fluff.

My son went to a bread and croissant baking camp and didn't like it at all (despite liking cooking and enjoying other cooking camps). The space was crowded with 12 or so kids in a garage and he got little actual cooking and attention done in the 3 hours. He didn't want to go there after the first day. The owner did not refund the 4 other days left anything despite the problem clearly being her going over reasonable capacity. Overall impression is of a polite but lacking the kind of warmth that I'd want from someone taking care of my kids. So I'd not recommend these camps to anyone.

I am sorry to hear that your son did not have a positive experience at camp. My mission is to inspire the next generation of home cooks with an emphasis on education of the cooking fundamentals and to support the local community. It has been rewarding to have so many repeat students and referrals by friends and family over the years. All of my classes, camps and parties are held in my cooking studio, a detached building on my property which I built 10 years ago for this purpose. Camps have a maximum of 12 students and I aim to offer students quality attention with our 1:4 staff to student ratio as they work in groups of 4 during their hands on cooking projects. Recognizing that this camp was not a good fit, I fully refunded his fees for a second camp in which he was enrolled. I hope your son will be willing to try out another camp in the future.

This camp was amazing. My daughter enjoyed everything they made. We were very surprised that she was taught very advanced techniques (ganache, mirror cakes).

Many thanks for your glowing review. I'm so happy to hear it was a good experience. As this is my "encore job" I am primarily interested in inspiring the next generation to develop a love of cooking. I hope I have been able to do this for your daughter. Cindy

Unfortunately it won't work for this camp. I have a new teacher and she wants to run through at least one camp to perfect her work before she considers this. Thank you so much for asking. Cindy -

I am ok with this. If ActivityHero does not let you register due to the age range, please change the date of birth before you register to make them old enough, and then change it back when done enrolling. Thanks! Cindy -

Some breads, such as my sourdough recipe do not have eggs. Others, such as sticky buns and banana bread do. In July I am teaching camps called "Best of NY Times" So sorry but I don't have a full week of camp without eggs. Cindy -
