The STEM and Robotics Center offers after-school and homeschool robotics classes, weekend STEM nights, and STEM summer camps for students in grades 1-8. Students will also learn and display the FIRST Core Values – Discovery, Innovation, Impact, Inclusion, Teamwork, and Fun.

Our Staff

My name is Janelle Lorenzen, and I am so excited to bring STEM education and robotics classes to the Northshore. I have been coaching K-12 robotics with FIRST programs since 2016 when I started my first FLL Challenge team for my sons and their friends. One year later, I added two more teams, and the rest is history. Nothing brings me more joy than watching a child persevere through challenges to find success. From coaching to volunteering, being a part of FIRST has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I hope that your child finds as much joy in it as I do.

My passion for robotics stems from my love of mathematics and problem-solving. As a former high school math teacher and PreK-12 math education professor, I enjoy sharing my knowledge of mathematics with students so that they can deepen their understanding of math and see the applications of it in their lives.
