Bay Language Academy

We aim to provide proficiency and fluency in French, Italian, Mandarin, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and English as a Second Language (ESL). Language SAT preparation, and Chinese calligraphy are also offered. Our class schedule is available, you could also contact us by preregistering to check availability within a certain class. Class sizes are restricted to ensure the best education possible. Our distinguished enrichment program offers a broad range of extracurricular options. Our objective is to expand learning opportunities that support social, cognitive, physical, academic and emotional balance. We strongly believe that by integrating a play-based philosophy into the curriculum and engaging students in ways that motivated them are key to make their learning experience a success. To achieve that goal, the foreign languages are associated to the universal language of art and instruction of artistic skills is performed not only in English but also in Spanish. We also believe that new languages can broaden the horizons and offer more opportunities in the future. Our foreign language program is implemented within a cultural context, so by providing an in-depth, linguistic and cultural instruction, we create a unique blend of stimulating environment and dynamic learning experience. We encourage students to be enriched by new cultures and to discover hidden opportunities. Students of all age (preschool to retirees) come to learn—or enhance existing skills in different languages. Our instructors are native-speaking teachers who take pride in immersing students in a foreign language through an engaging set of media interactive games, songs, art projects, total physical response and classical games. They are trilingual and share a passion for languages. They either hold Master's degrees or Bachelor's degrees with certifications or are credentialed teachers. They have extensive teaching experience in well established language institutions and/or universities, colleges or schools in the US and abroad. Our staff members have been living in at least three countries and can relate to the cultural differences and the challenges that a second or third language learning implies. For younger students, instructors provide a nurturing, welcoming environment where they are engaged while keeping in mind the discovery and fun aspects of learning. For older students, a fun yet academic atmosphere where they are expected to complete tasks and homework. They are challenged in many ways that allow them to advance in their language acquisition. Our team of educators and linguists are dedicated to provide our students with high quality instruction in a joyful environment.They are all "fingerprinted" and had a Tb test. We take pride in keeping the communication open at all time with the parents and ensure that they are aware of their kids daily learning progress. All students are challenged to develop comprehension and verbal skills first then reading and writing skills. We create a multilevel learning environment where new students learn from peer-models while more experienced students build leadership skills. Adult classes, are tailored to students who might have had a previous exposure to the language and the curriculum is adjusted to their particular interest.
