Primitive Skills Camp I

What: Join Tahoe Expedition Academy Crew Leader and Adventure Guide, Loren Trux for Primitive Skills Camp! During morning session campers will learn archery, blacksmithing, woodcarving, cordage and primitive shelter creation. Natural science will be highlighted when campers study local flora and fauna key to survival situations. In the afternoon, campers will learn to sail on Lake Tahoe with Blake Hoffman of the Tahoe Sailing School. Campers will learn the age-old skill of navigating the high seas (lake) on Blake’s new fleet of Picos. Campers will sail together learning wind and boat basics, knot tying, and how to rig and de-rig Picos and Hobie Cats. Final Products: Campers will bring finished metal works and woodcarvings home, along with new knowhow, experiences and friends.
