About
Rock-it Science Summer Camp
Think of us as "Mister Rogers meets MythBusters!" Rock-it Science Summer Camp provides project-oriented, hands-on science programs that are creative, challenging, and fun! During a Rock-it Science session, children engage in cooperative learning and playful science activities, like Laser Sound Waves, the Solar Furnace, and a real Tesla Coil. Our instructors use storytelling and innovative science experiments to capture children's attention and imagination.
Founded in 1987
Our Staff
Our Director, Mary Lyn Azar, has a degree in aeronautical engineering, has taught classes at Rock-it Science, and has also taught art in public schools. She was trained in the Rock-it Science method by the founder, John McChesney ("Mr. Mac").
Our other instructor, Michelle Mastroianni, is a former elementary school teacher and was also trained in the Rock-it Science method by John McChesney.
We require background checks on all of our staff at the time of hiring.

My 7-year old son took summer classes here practically all summer long. He had so much fun, and kept requesting additional weeks. He's also a kid with ADHD who has some challenges staying on task, but the staff was so supportive and kind, and really helped me in working with him to have a positive experience. We loved it, and we are coming back for homeschool classes during the year.
