KathyJo Boss / Founder & Director

She is the founder and director of Boss Academy of Performing Arts. She is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, teacher and actor with over 40 years of performance training and experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance and Musical Theatre from New York University. Her extensive background includes performances on Broadway, national musical theatre tours, network television, and motion pictures, as well as entertainment industry production.

KathyJo began dancing at the age of two, trained with several well-known teachers and was selected as a company member of the Boston Ballet. With a passion for performing, she attended New York University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dance and Musical Theatre.

While in New York, KathyJo appeared on Broadway in the title role of Lambchop in Shari Lewis’ Lambchop on Broadway and performed as a soloist for the Washington Square Dance Company. In addition, she appeared on stage at the reputable Kennedy Center and the distinguished Actor’s Theatre Workshop.

KathyJo has educated students of all ages in all forms of dance and performance. She was selected to serve on the faculty of New York University and at several New York and Los Angeles dance studios. KathyJo has trained many young men and women to win national dance competitions and scholarships and has judged several dance and modeling competitions.

KathyJo has extended her talents and abilities into the field of television and film. She has also been cast in national and international commercials and industrial films, and worked on the production of several shows for cable and network television.

She has worked with top talent in the industry including Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Glenn Close, Sarah Jessica Parker, Martin Short, George Carlin, Patti LaBelle, Kevin Pollock, Rob Reiner, Billy Crystal, Chevy Chase, Kenny G, and Drew Carey.

KathyJo is proud to bring her leadership, imagination, and vision back to the South Shore. She is a Whitman native and currently resides there with her husband Geoff and daughters Kaylee and Emily.
