Box Turtles

The Box Rurtle program consists of full-day and half-day programs that focus in different areas. The full-day camps focus on four different topics: Art, Science, Drama and Sports. Custom design your campers summer with these wondeful week to week programs. Read on for a description of each of these Box Turtle full-day camps: STAGE AND SCREEN Does your camper have a flare for the dramatic? Are they able to let their imagination run wild? Indulge your camper’s creative side with this brand new camp designed to bring out the performer in all of us! Campers will have the opportunity to learn about stage performances both in front of and behind the curtain, improve storytelling and character developing skills and most of all have fun with their friends as they explore the colorful world of Stage and Screen. Actors will also participate in Beauvoir’s swim program, make use of Beauvoir’s outdoor play space and attend resource classes in art, music science and cooking. SUMMERTIME SCIENCE Make sure your camper puts on their lab coat and grabs their magnifying glass as we set out to solve the super scientific secrets of the universe! These junior scientists will explore physical, life, earth and space sciences through a variety of hands-on and minds-on activities. Campers will have the chance to learn and practice their scientific inquiry skills in a fun and imaginative environment. Scientists will also participate in Beauvoir’s swim program, make use of Beauvoir’s outdoor play space and attend resource classes in art, cooking and music/drama. READY-SET-GO! Lace up your sneakers, stretch out your muscles and get ready to work up a sweat as your camper works on the “FUN”damentals of team sports. This camp is designed for rookies and veterans alike as both have an opportunity to develop and refine their athletic skills. Campers will participate in a safe, fun and supportive environment while at the same time be challenged to reach new levels of greatness. Athletes will also participate in Beauvoir’s swim program, make use of Beauvoir’s outdoor play space and attend resource classes in art, cooking, music/drama and science. ARTISTIC ADVENTURES Each week campers will explore the artistic world through a variety of mediums. Campers will sketch, draw, paint and sculpt their way through the summer while learning about some of the most famous artists of our past and present. If there is a little artist in your child then this is the perfect environment for them to express themselves, develop their talent and enjoy a creative, enlightening and enriching art experience. Artists will also participate in Beauvoir’s swim program, make use of Beauvoir’s outdoor play space and attend resource classes in cooking, music/drama and science. New this year we also have wonderful half-day camps. In the morning you can choose from Academic camps such as Math, Mandarin, Spanish and French. in the afternoon you can have a much more laid back experience with the Boys Adventure Camp and the Girls Adventure Camp. These afternoon camps are challenge based and focus on teamwork and large scale projects..
