Our Staff

Jimmy Arias - Director of Tennis

Arias was one of the original tennis students at IMG Academy, then the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, when it opened in 1978. He turned pro at age 16, and within three years, reached the U.S. Open singles semifinals, won the 1981 French Open mixed doubles, and claimed four professional singles titles. Arias reached a career-high of No. 5 in the world in 1984 at age 20. Since his retirement from the professional ranks, Arias has been involved in the game as both a coach and a commentator for ESPN, The Tennis Channel, Rogers Sportsnet, and the Canadian Broadcasting Network.


Don Cameron - Director of Soccer

Don Cameron has been with IMG Academy since November of 2018. He was hired as the Technical Director and now serves as the Director of Soccer. Don has successfully coached at national, professional and youth levels throughout the world. He was the head coach of the U15 ECNL National champions and has successfully led multiple teams to national, regional and state championships.


Kevin Cragg - Director of Golf

Kevin Craggs joined IMG Academy in June 2019 as the Director of Golf. He brings more than three decades of experience to the role as a PGA Professional, with more than 25 years as a dedicated coach. After playing on the European tour for several years, Kevin moved into coaching and for many years was the Scottish National Team Coach. He built his career on developing golfers at all levels, from the juniors through the professional ranks on both the European and U.S. tours. He has worked with the likes of Scottish golfing legend Colin Montgomerie and IMG Academy alumna Paula Creamer.


Shell Dailey - Director Of Girls Basketball/Head Coach

Shell Dailey, Head Coach and Director of the Girls Basketball Program, is a former WNBA (San Antonio Silver Stars) and Division 1 (Florida, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Texas Christian) coach. Dailey has coached and developed more than 50 WNBA players, in addition to 20+ USA Basketball and Olympic players.


Tom Marechek - Director of Lacrosse

Tom was a four-time NCAA All-American at Syracuse University. After college, Tom played 12 years for the professional indoor team, the Philadelphia Wings who retired his number in 2006. He was inducted into the National Lacrosse League Hall of Fame in 2007, US National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2012. Prior to joining us at the Academy, Tom was the varsity boy’s lacrosse coach at McDonogh School, Glenelg County School and Friends School, both in Maryland. Through his own endeavors, Tom has successfully managed a camp lacrosse business, instructing over 17,500 lacrosse players throughout the United States since 1995.


Mark Napier - Director of Track and Field

Over the many years of coaching Mark has won numerous individual coaching awards and has achieved success at all levels from high school to college to professional. Mark’s extensive experience with both women’s and men’s teams will serve him well in leading our boys’ and girls’ track & cross-country programs. He has coached 21 NJCAA National Champions, 7 NJCAA National Field Event record holders, 34 NCAA Conference Champions, 27 NCAA All-Americans, 4 Olympians, and mentored 12 NFL football players on speed and performance.


Brian Nash - Director of Basketball

Brian Nash, an NCAA Division I head and assistant coach for more than 20 years, joined IMG Academy as Director of Basketball in 2016. In his role, Nash oversees the basketball program for its youth and high school student-athletes, as well as its camps and training programs for post-graduate and professional players. 


Dan Simmonds - Director of Baseball

​​A former collegiate and professional player and coach who most notably spent eight years as Miami University’s head coach, Dan Simonds is a proven leader with a history of developing student-athletes to reach their full potential. Simonds has more than 14 years of D-I baseball coaching experience, producing 32 MLB draft picks, 24 All-MAC selections 5 MAC freshman of the year and 17 Academic All-MAC student-athletes during his tenure at Miami.

George Hegamin - Director of Football


Dr. Taryn Morgan - VP, Athletic and Personal Development

Taryn Morgan has consulted with numerous junior, collegiate, and professional/Olympic athletes and teams. She has been the mental conditioning consultant for Texas A&M Women’s Soccer, University of Tennessee Women’s Soccer, Rowing and Swimming/Diving, Maryville College Volleyball, the Southeast Florida Figure Skating Club (including Amanda Evora, Olympic Pairs skater) in addition to all of the IMG sports. In addition to her applied experience, Taryn also taught an Introduction to Sport and Exercise Psychology class and numerous activity classes at the University of Tennessee and the University of Florida. She has been invited to speak at camps and clinics across the nation and has presented at national and international conferences.
