Riekes Center for Human Enhancement

Our family has been involved in Rikes on and off for the past 12 years. We currently have 3 children in the program and they all love it. It is an early morning and a long day, but it is so much fun the kids get themselves perpared and enjoy the day every time they go.

With so many locations to choose from Monterrey to Filoli it gives us a great choice of programs and weeks! The instructors are great and the activities are so fun! My kids wanted to go all summer but we had some other things to do. I especially like the skills my kids learned, especially being able to identify poison oak for me.

Their nature camps do a great job of allowing kids to explore in nature and learning about nature

My 11 yo son did the Bushcraft camp and loved it! He learned some whittling and fire-building skills and just generally enjoyed being in nature all day.

My kids have been a part of Rieke's camps for years. The staff are incredibly kind and my kids were so happy every time they got in the car afterwards. Something about being outside in nature all day long will do that. I love that there are no screens and just a time to explore.

Great outdoor summer camp for our kids! They get to explore in a beautiful outdoor setting and get dirty, look for animals, and learn about nature. No computers, AI, coding or anything here! Both our kids have gone for several years now and they always look forward to it each summer.

My son had a lot fun with the games and songs. He also learned some outdoor knowledge and skills. Love all the staff. They are so fun and energetic for the kids.

My son enrolled in the Riekes camp last summer and we were thrilled with it. He came home extremely happy and exhausted and occasionally muddy, with lots of stories of fun activities and interesting nature observations, and cool art projects. He is forever asking to go back to Filoli now! The counselors seemed really engaged with him and he found it easy to make friends.

My son loved attending Riekes camp at Filoli and at Huddart Park last summer. He came home every afternoon thoroughly exhausted from a day of hikes and adventures, and full of stories and with art projects made out of natural materials to show off. He was extremely enthusiastic about going back, and learned a lot of nature facts he loved to share with our family!

My kids have loved Riekes summer camps at Huddart Park, Stevens Creek, and Filoli gardens, as well as other Bay Area sites. The instructors are great, and it's a wonderful opportunity to spend a day in nature, learning about the world through direct contact (and no screens!). My son particularly enjoyed the LARP camp at Huddart park. It was very creative and a lot of fun for him.

The Riekes Center Nature camp is a must-have for my son every summer. He had fun and learned so much about the nature. Highly recommend.

My daughter has done the Nature’s Rambler camp for the last 2 years. This camp is the only one she specifically requests each summer and she can’t wait to do it again this summer.

Amazing instructors and overall a well organized program!

Amazing offerings. We are super excited about the nature ninja circus offerings this summer, and can’t wait to have my kiddos participate in stealth, survival skills, bushwhacking, and even mixed media, documentary filmmaking and LARPIng in future years!!

My daughter and her cousin went to a nature camp they hosted and loved the archery aspect of it so much that my daughter continued to do archery with Riekes

Great program! The kids get to develop so many skills.

My three girls have been in the Riekes Nature Awareness program for the past three years. I can't say enough great things about the Riekes Center, the Natures Awareness Program and the staff. My children are being taught by the nicest, most knowledgeable, positive and caring people! The Natures Awareness Program has allowed my kids to truly engage with nature despite living in the middle of Silicon Valley. I got a kick out of my youngest (6 years) informing a ranger (from up in a tree) that she was "tree certified" while we were on a camping trip recently. Needless to say, the ranger was completely charmed and confided how impressed he was with how comfortable the kids were in a natural environment. I give the Riekes program full credit for helping the kids become so connected with nature.
