Student-Teacher Ratio 8:1

Overview

Campers will create powerful teleporting swords, humorous blocks, amazing mobs, bows that shoot arrows that summon ender dragons, entire worlds, and other insane items, all through the power of programming! Perfect for both the beginning coder and the advanced modding aficionado, Modding is one of our most popular camps!

No coding experience required. We have an easy-to-code version of modding that teaches the same coding concepts, without the focus on typing out text-based code.

Code Rev's modding classes differentiate instruction based on your student's level of familiarity and provide a mind-blowing curriculum perfect for even the experienced modder.

Code Rev is currently on 2 grants to provide professional development in this class to teachers. This class provides an excellent framework through which students learn coding concepts and computational thinking by casing it in a framework that provides enormous motivation to students.

By learning to code their own mods from the ground up, students are empowered to create their own exciting elements within the world of Minecraft and code special powers that ordinarily do not exist in the game. That's right, they literally hack the game and write their own rules. This class is also aligned and supported by specialists out of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and M.I.T. Media Lab.

You can buy Minecraft online from their official website.

This class was fun for my 8 year old son because he had a chance to combine circuits and breadboarding with building a cool robot project that he could apply his coding skills and learnings to. I was impressed to learn that the company makes their own robotics kits and that what we took home (you have to purchase the kit for extra, but it's good value) was unique and not something you could get somewhere else. It also came with extra lessons, but he's taking the camp a second time to get deeper into the more advanced components.

My 8 yr old did coding for the first time and she loved it. Robotics was a little tough for her given that it was the first time for her, and a little more hand holding would have been great, but Roblox coding was epic. All in all she had great fun and loved her teacher.
My 6yo daughter learned coding for the first time, she loves working with Mrs Anna, it was a lot of fun to build in the Minecraft world.
