Acceleration Camps and Classes

A day program for children and young adults with Autism, Asperger's, and other developmental disabilities ages 3-21.

Programs:

• Early Transitions: for children 3-9 who benefit from Discrete Trial Instuction in a small group setting with low student-teacher ratios. Focus is on pre-academic skills as well as life and social skills, including vocalizations and toilet training (if needed).
• Middle School/High School PLAN: for students 10-21 who are three grade levels behind their chronological peers. Focus is on life and social skills, including cooking, laundry, hygiene, and group games. Functional academics also targeted. Weekly community outings to practice skill development are also included.
• K-8 ASPIRE: geared toward children near grade level. Parents choose from two out of four focus areas: Reading, Language Arts, Math, and Social Skills. Each focus area will feature the same program curriculum and instructional methodologies (Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching) used throughout the school year by our teachers. In four weeks, students will receive the equivalent of 8-10 weeks (one academic quarter) of instruction. Students are grouped by current level, not by age, and still receive a high level of personalized instruction.
• High School ASPIRE: for students near grade level. Morning focus is standardized test prep (OGT/ACT/SAT) with science/math, reading/writing, or college prep options. Afternoon focus is on life and social skills, including hygiene, cooking, laundry, games and a community outing once per week.
