EXPLORATIONS IN ART by Ellen Evangeliste
Grades K-5 (class size: min 8 - max 15; fee $155 – includes all materials) Wednesdays, 2:25-3:30, 9 weeks, Jan 25-Mar 22
Dynamic afterschool art classes for children in grades K through 5 expose students to drawing, painting, pastels, printmaking, collage, landscapes, wood sculpture and many other techniques. Their new skills will be the gateways to expressing their own imaginations. They are also an entry into exploration of art history in this class, including the work of Alexander Calder, Joseph Cornell, Georgia O'Keeffe, Frida Kahlo and Jacob Lawrence, among others. Art teacher Ellen Evangeliste has a BFA in printmaking and drawing from Carnegie Mellon University. She believes that even the youngest children can make vital artwork using quality materials and challenging techniques.
