Logical Reasoning Contest - Ohlone College

Logical Reasoning test measures your ability or aptitude to reason logically. Apply logical reasoning skills to identify the correct answer.

Which grades are eligible to participate?

Students attending Grades 3 to 8 in the 2023-2024 academic year are eligible to participate in this contest

What is the objective of this competition?

Our goal is to encourage students' interest in Critical & Logical thinking. Students can expect to spend their day solving interesting problems by participating in a fun-filled tournament with other students.

Where will this competition be held?

The contest will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Ohlone College, Fremont. The contest for students (Grades 3 to 8) will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What is the competition format?

Students will be invited in groups to answer questions using Buzzers. There will be warm-up and elimination rounds. Top-scoring students in the elimination rounds will advance to the next rounds until the top 3 winners are identified for the respective levels (elementary/ middle school). Tie-breaking questions will be introduced in case of a tie in the score

How is scoring done?

Scores will be added from the buzzer and relay rounds to calculate the final score

Correct Answer = 10 points

Wrong Answer = - 5 points

No Answer = 0 points

Are parents allowed to attend?

Yes, we welcome parents to attend the event based on the space in the room.

How should students prepare for this contest?

Students must prepare the topics as listed - We will provide sample questions for reference.

Are there any awards for participants?

Yes, all participants will receive a certificate for participation.
