About
SHAPE Community Center
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people of African descent (all people) through programs and activities, with emphasis on Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work & Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith.
Our Programs provide life skills, cultural, recreational, homework assistance and academic enrichment activities for school-aged children(5-15) Mondays through Fridays, August through May. Nutritious snacks (fruits, juices, etc.) are provided daily. Cultural enrichment is offered at various community sites,.
Community service projects, field trips and outings are offered every Friday. Weekly parent sessions are held to strengthen parent skills. Overall Program Goals are to provide programs and activities aimed at empowering youth adults, and community organizations, groups, and institutions to regain control of their lives, homes, and communities and to return our communities to their original greatness.
