Aardvark Clay and Supplies was founded in 1972 in Santa Ana, California, with the purpose of manufacturing quality clays and basic materials for the studio potter in the most customer-oriented manner possible. As our reputation with the potters grew, so did our trade with schools and universities. We soon expanded to meet their needs with a wide selection of potter's wheels, kilns, tools, and books, etc. We now offer a well-rounded selection of materials and tools for everyone, whether you're a hobby ceramist, sculptor, mold maker, doll maker, muralist, or professional potter.

Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding: This class covers the fundamentals of making pottery. You will learn the basics of wheel throwing where you will go from making a simple cylinder to an elaborately carved vase. Handbuilding techniques are taught with an emphasis on many surface treatments. Includes 1 bag of clay, 30 hours of open studio time, access to cone 10 glazes, and bisque and glaze firing of works produced in our studio. All ability levels welcome.   

Wheel Throwing: This class is great for first-timers and advanced potters. Matt is well regarded for his patience, individual attention, and great throwing and hand-building skills. Cone 10 glazing techniques will be demonstrated. Includes 1 bag of clay, 30 hours of open studio time, access to cone 10 glazes, and bisque and glaze firing of works produced in our studio.

Beginning Glass Fusing: In this class, you will learn about the ancient process of glass fusing through individual and class projects. Designing, cutting and combining of sheet glass, frits, and stringers will be covered, as well as firing strategies and fusing schedules.
