Lippan Art

This distinctive style of painting while also learning about the culture where it originated. Mud and Mirror work (also known as Lippan Art) is a traditional mural craft of Kutch, India. It has now gathered attention of the modern world for its intricate pattern and aesthetic perfection and has made a full transition from its modest stature to the mainstream art world.

As the base, we will be using a piece of thin wood board. In addition to that, we will be painting our product with acrylic paint, mirror, and epoxy clay.

It is the perfect STEAM activity. Build, Paint, and PLAY.

With weekly field trips, Fun Friday dress-up themes, and awards, talent shows, children will enjoy the benefits of both being inside and outside.

Each week kids will either go on a Field Trip to Bay area attractions or we will bring the Field Trips to Achievers in the form of a professional performer/ show. Charges for Field Trip $40/child and In House Field Trip is $25/child.

Pros: My son loved making projects. The time given to work on the project each day (2 hours adn 30 minutes) helped him improve and learn.

Improvement: Better ways of communication. This was my son's first time in this camp. On the last day of the week, there was a pizza treat and he was the only kid who did not get the pizza. The reason being that the parent had not signed for the pizza. I was never informed during the week about this until my son came in the evening upset about not getting pizza.

Hi Veena,
I am sad to hear about the Pizza issue. We communicate the Friday pizza lunch that families can sign up for in many ways.
An email is sent out to all families before the camp starts that has all the details on what to expect during the week including Pizza Friday with instructions on how to sign up.
We have a Pizza sign up sheet right next to the Attendance sign-in sheet so parents don't miss it. This is placed there on Monday and stays until Friday.
We also do multiple assemblies with children to go over what is happening during the week and pizza Friday is also announced at that time.

We order pizzas according to the number of sign-ups we get. It's unfortunate you missed the multiple reminders.

However, I saw your son feeling sad that he was not signed up, and I personally offered him pizza that he did have. I didn't want him to feel the way he was feeling. You can fact-check that with him.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience this situation might have caused.

Best Regards,
Divya

Hi Divya,

I apologize for the mistake. When I checked again, it turns out you did offer him pizza.
