If you like to construct beautiful things and then fly them, this project is for you. Your students will create giant durable paper airplanes, make them beautiful and enjoy learning and playing with the aerodynamics of flying. This is engineering, building, art and physics in one tremendously fun indoor/outdoor project.

LESSON:

The folding and creating of a flying paper jet is a bit of creative engineering, as is the addition of duct tape for durability and enhanced flight. Decorating the plane with crayons, markers, stickers, ribbon and anything else makes a wonderful art project. The actual flying of the planes gets the children thinking about the physics of flight; direction, angle, wind, thrust, etc. This project incorporates science, art and engineering and culminates in a fun outdoor activity and a cool project to play with multiple times.

Would highly recommend! The teacher was AMAZING- he made science, physics and learning so much fun. It's the first time during COVID distance learning that my son would sit happily for the whole session, participate, and look forward to it. The activities were dynamic, at the kid's level while also being incredibly educational and fun. Plus there was a nice mix of art, building, and taking the activities to try them outside.
