Overview

Adventuring Portal will run our Intro to D&D, 90 minute class with between 1 and 4 players … (smaller the amount of players the better – as this is a class, not a full game)

We LOVE experiential learning so our class agenda/lesson plan is simple: 10-15 minutes going through a quick D&D, Character Sheet & Roll20 conversation.  The rest of the time we start an adventure that includes role play, exploration and combat – which are the three pillars of D&D (The World’s Greatest Role Playing Game!)  All players go through group and individual skill checks and saving throws depending on what characters they choose to use, as well as combat – which sometimes can be solved with a peaceful resolution.  (You NEED a great persuasion roll in this case 😊 )   In the end participants will be at a point where they begin to feel comfortable playing D&D.

Our players leave knowing all the basic D&D game play as well as experiencing: teamwork, bravery, compassion, generosity, negotiation, improvisation, gamer etiquette, strategy, critical thinking, problem solving, cartography and probability - all through online D&D adventuring!

My 11 yr old son learned how to play D&D thanks to Adventuring Portal. He has played in a few camp game sessions and each game day he is so excited to see what the adventure will be! I definitely recommend Adventuring Portal to any boy or girl - it's really awesome!

Adventuring Portal is rockstar. My 9-year-old niece and 13-year-old nephew have loved every online adventure. They have made new friends, loved every Storyteller, and had so much fun creating their characters and using their imaginations in new and collaborative ways. Best summer camp and afterschool experience. We even did a family party for my own 48th birthday! Seriously, check AP out.

Adventuring Portal has been such a great experience for my son. He had never played D&D before he signed up.for a session last summer. Once he learned the game he started playing D&D with friends in-person, and continued to play weekly games with Adventuring Portal. I love how excited he gets about the campaigns, how he can really use his creativity to create characters and back stories, strategize and problem solve. I'm grateful that my son has had this creative and social outlet through the pandemic and moving forward. Highly recommend!
