TAEKWONDO is a Korean Martial Arts. It combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. Taekwondo competition typically involves sparring, breaking, forms, and self-defense. In Korean, TAE means "to stomp" or "to strike or break with the foot", KWON means "to strike or break with the fist", and DO means "way of life, Taekwondo may be loosely translated as "the way of the foot and the hand."

Master Hong graduated from Mokwon University with a Master’s degree in physical education, qualifying him to be an elite physical trainer. Having begun the study of Taekwondo in the second grade, Master Hong has won many competitions. During college, he won gold medals for sparring two years in a row (1996, 1997).
Through a lifetime of study, training, competition, and performance Master Hong has developed a love for Taekwondo, as both student and teacher. Master Hong taught students at his college and also created a demo team to promote and advertise the University. He has traveled to numerous countries to demonstrate and perform Taekwondo.
