My kids are attending virtual Shakespeare camp this year. They attended in-person last year and it was their favorite camp. We were unsure what virtual camp would be like but it has been great. The pacing is amazing, keeping the kids engaged but with timely breaks. The tutors are great , incredibly sensitive and thoughtful. Shakespeare camp is not just about the drama, but really does address the children as people building self-confidence and encouraging creative decision-making. I'm really impressed!
Our 12 year-old has been a Bay Area Shakespeare camper for the past 5 years and we weren't sure what to expect with the online camp. It has been absolutely terrific. She loves it. She is engaged and having fun. She says the activities are "super fun" and the teachers are "really good" and that she finds the camp has adapted very well to the online situation. She said that "except for stage combat and some games, it's basically the same Shakespeare camp." They're playing games, making props and crafts, learning about Shakespeare's writing and the historical period, and of course working on their parts for the play. She is having a great time and she really loves it! We highly recommend it.

Shakespeare Camp is an absolute treasure. I can't explain their magic formula but somehow they awaken these campers to the language and stories of Shakespeare, and somehow they put on an amazing performance at the end. My son has gone for 3 years now and he was so sad when we thought it was a no-go for this summer. But he tried out their Virtual Shakespeare Camp Sampler and had so much fun that he pestered me for weeks to sign him up. He can't wait!
