Celsius and Beyond is a hands-on science enrichment program for children to learn about chemistry, physics, math and cell biology. Scientists and professionals teach in-depth courses that are relevant to a child's life. Kids ages six through 14 experiment with mazes to solve math questions, music to understand physics and cooking to learn chemistry. To cover all the fascinating topics of science and provide an ever-challenging environment, fresh new classes are offered each year.

Our Staff
Our counselors and teachers are experts in their fields which allows campers to go more in-depth in topics than most other camps.
Our son loved this camp, and asked to do more baking camps over the summer. He enjoyed the baking, said the counselors were nice, and loved playing with the camp dog.
My 7 year old daughter (incoming 2nd grader) loved the camp. It seemed that each day they would hang out at the main building for a short bit before walking/busing to a different marine-related location in the city each day. They’d explore the area, learn some facts, eat lunch, and maybe dip their feet in the water or enjoy a nearby playground. Then they’d bus/walk back to arrive by 4:00. For my daughter’s session, they went to 1) Tunnel Tops playground/Crissy Field, 2) The California Academy of Sciences, 3) Pier 39 to see the sea lions, 4) Ocean Beach, and 5) Baker Beach. On day three, they also went to a different location to see a dog fish.
She wasn’t looking forward to the camp as it was a last minute add, but she had a really good time and was really glad she went. She also did aftercare and enjoyed the kind and fun counselors. She’s asking to do the metal working session when she’s old enough.
My daughter thought this class was fun and loved creating the jewelry. She thought the instructor was very knowledgeable and did a great job with everyone in the group.
It wasn’t what we hoped for. We were anticipating more chemistry / lab-involvement but it’s more art-making instead. My child had a lot of fun regardless.

Will camper use other materials such as card board to build their projects? My camper loves Legos but she's also interested in card board, plastic, mailing supplies and such. Thank you

Hi, In our robotics camp we utilize only LEGO pieces. I understand why your daughter likes construction that goes beyond LEGO, however. We are unable to offer this as it requires a different skillset than the ones a good LEGO instructor has. All of them pretty much are die-hard robotics fans and focus only on that. Maybe that is why so are so good at it :)
We do offer programs that could fit perfectly your daughter's likes. We offer in the summer woodworking, DeVinci, architecture, and metalsmith. Our offering changes every year but by January you will be able to see the schedule for the summer.
Kind regards, Auritte -
