Chico Creek Nature Center

Summer Camp: The Chico Creek Nature Center, located in the heart of Bidwell Park, presents nature education day camps for children ages 5-11. The programs are designed to provide outdoor recreation and foster awareness of nature in a fun, safe, and caring setting. Campers enjoy hands-on natural science labs, up close animal visits, arts and crafts, and outdoor games.

After School Program:  This class introduces kids to Computer Science. We will learn to code in Java Script, Scratch and Snap! Programming. Topics that will be covered include: Variables, Animation, Text and strings, functions, Logic and if Statements, looping, arrays, objects, debugging programs and writing clean code. This class introduces kids to Engineering and Robotics.

Learn the basics of Chinese brush painting, including theory, history, materials, composition, flowers, birds, vegetables, insects, and plants. The instructor will demonstrate, provide samples, and step-by-step hands-on instructions. DanceNastics is a class that combines both dance and gymnastics! Students begin with a stretching and flexibility warm up, then they learn the basics of ballet and Jazz through center work, across the floor and routines.
