This is a 5 week course, taught by an Emmy-award winning writer, director, actor and comedian named, Joe J.
Humor is an effective way for kids to connect and develop friendships. Using humor skills can also be applied to acting and presentations. In this class, students will learn how to generate and perform material in several different forms. They will also learn skills in collaborating and writing for other people.
The sketch comedy elements covered will be comic characters, blackouts (short 2-3 lines sketches), and parodies.
There will be five class sessions and one 15-20-minute presentation in the second half of the fifth class that is open for family and friends to attend.

This class is for young students who want to develop their creative side and have a sense of humor they’d like to see grow.
What is the takeaway:
Students will learn techniques to generate and develop material for comedy. They will also learn comedy performance skills and how to work with a team. Students will become more confident in expressing ideas and sharing things that make them laugh.
