This activity does not have any upcoming sessions open for registrations on ActivityHero right now. We can send you an email when they do.
Offered for grades K-2nd our young learners will be introduced to coding skills by using activities with directional arrows, block sequencing and order of actions in a private class for one hour.
We offer this lesson as a PERSONAL TUTORING service scheduled by appointment. Look for the banner that says 1:1 Personal Tutoring to register. The dates/times are MOCK times used to register. We will together choose a schedule through email.
Students learn coding in our S.T.E.A.M. hour-Various Times, look for the S.T.E.A.M. hour banner OR the lime green banner that says TYPING & CODING if you want to be in a group class.
Code with MINECRAFT, BARBIE, ANGRY BIRDS and ROBOTS & Monkeys, just to name a few!
Not only will students learn navigating through programs on their computer and computer tools, students will learn how to use BLOCKLY code, a precursor and elementary way of learning computer programming. Using blocks like puzzle pieces they connect pieces that have commands on them. The commands then carry out a path or action that a fun character takes to complete a mission. Beginner students will use directional arrows to choose a path for their characters and after they excel in this activity they will use blocks to connect and carry out a string of commands.
Learning how to code has been praised by elementary educators and has proven that students develop better sequencing and analytical skills.
This is the IMPORTANT class your child will NEED to SUCCEED with virtual learning AND learn valuable skills to continually benefit from for years to come!
Oh YEAH, half-way through students stretch and participate in our special "VIRTUAL DANCE PARTY".
*Our Zoom Room is scheduled Eastern Time, so logon 1, 2 or 3 hours BEFORE this class time if you live in a DIFFERENT time zone.
