(Aviation Summer Camp)

My 12 year old attended aviation camp, and it was interesting as an experience. It lacked organization, giving the kids shirts, but never asking for sizes in advance.
They were very unorganized, when I checked my son out, on a day I took him home early, they marked him checked out, but vaguely told me that I'd find him outside of the building. They never actually confirmed I found my child, or took him home, which surprised me. All of the afternoon activities were very unstructured, and while most of the kids seemed to be having fun, there were no specific activities. The TAs(camp counsellors were called TAs) were not in any uniform, so I could not tell who to ask to find my child. I luckily happened to run across the one person who was usually at check out, and she had a clipboard with her. The pool they mentioned would be available was a 10 minute walk from the facility the pick up and drop of was at. I think there was a waiver, but no one actually asked us to sign it, or collect it. They also bagged up all of the food from lunch, and had it in zip locs sitting out for people to take if they wanted to... just bags of random items of food.

The menus were not shared in advance, so if a child had issues w/ any specific foods (it was listed as part of the price of the camp) you had to pack food for every day, because you did not know when they would serve the items.

Aviation camp's planned activities went off the rails on day 1, because one of the drones malfunctioned, and then they had to share with larger groups to each drone. When I asked my son what they did, he noted most of the time was hanging out digging with a pvc pipe. I didn't give 1 star because he wasn't completely put off by the experience, but it was not what was listed as the camp activities, so the advertising did not meet the experience.

My teenager had a blast in this summer camp. He did photography, aviation. Robotics. Everybody there is very friendly and respectful. My son also enjoyed the lunch that was provided by the camp. During his photography, they took him up to San Francisco and he was able to take some pretty nice shots.

The CompassPoint Mentorship Camps' Cooking Club was an incredible experience! My child loved every moment of the camp, learning new cooking skills, exploring diverse cuisines, and gaining confidence in the kitchen. The mentors were knowledgeable and supportive, making each session engaging and fun. The grand finale, where the kids showcased and ate their culinary creations, was the perfect ending to an amazing camp. Highly recommend!
