Want to get better at solving a Rubik's Cube? Want to learn robotics? You have come to the right place!
Cubexell is a fun camp that will teach kids both how to solve Rubik's cubes faster, and how to make a robot that can solve a cube.
Amahl and Larry are two rising 8th graders from Palo Alto. We have been cubing for over two years and have participated in many WCA competitions. We can solve a cube in under 10 seconds. Hopefully, we will help you become this fast! We also have created our own robot to solve cubes, and we will teach you how to do that as well!
Robotics: In this class, students will build a robot that can solve a Rubik's Cube. The robot will be made of 3D printed parts, servos, cameras, and REV Robotics controllers. The coding will be done in Java. This project is not only fun and exiting, but learning to code in Java will be a very useful skill later on. They will make the robot solve the cube using various different methods. Goals:
Cubing: This class is for kids who already have some cubing experience and can solve a 3x3x3 Rubik's cube in just a few minutes. Students will either focus on improving their 3x3x3 skills or learning a new puzzle. We will focus on more advanced methods like CFOP (Cross, F2L, OLL, and PLL). On the last day of the camp, we will host a small, unofficial competition to see how fast students have gotten. We will give each student a 3x3 Rubik's Cube, specifically a Moyu RS3M 2020 for the class, though students are free to bring their own cube(s). Goals:
