Overview

In this weekly class, young artists will explore and experiment with a variety of mediums to create arts and crafts inspired by mythical creatures . This may include dragons, fairies, gargoyles and more. Students will use mediums such as pastels, acrylic paint, paper mache, clay, and more to make both 2D and 3D art. We'll also explore the origin and culture behind many of our favorite creatures of myth through discussion and short presentations.

This class is open as both an after-school enrichment class, or for home-schoolers looking to outsource art instruction. Mythical creatures are a popular theme with this age group, and this class could help bridge the way to more art for students where it hasn't been a favorite subject.
