Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 12:1

Active learning doesn't have to stop when school is out. Our summer STEM CAMP promotes Project Based Learning (PBL) during summer vacations.  Making Project-Based Learning part of the summer experience gives our campers new opportunities to become leaders, thinkers, and problem-solvers. This powerful learning experience happens almost by stealth because our students are having too much fun figuring out how things work to realize that they are actually engaging in serious learning. It is extremely exciting to see how much they can accomplish in just one week. Our camps have multiple learning levels perfect for Grades 1-8 students.

We offer the following STEM themes this summer:

Each week we have different theme and projects.

Summer 2025 Themes:

Fun with Logic, and Forensic Science

Genetics, DNA, & Human Anatomy

Electronic Circuits + Arduino Programming

Aero + Hydro Dynamics

Electronic Circuits, Bread Board, LEDs, and Arduino:

Electronics are a key component of many STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education curriculum and students can learn electronics essentials and more advanced concepts during these summer programs. This is an immerse camp where students wire and build their own paper and bread board circuits while learning the basics of electronic circuits and components (resistors, transistors, capacitors through which electric current can flow). They will also learn how to create and control electric circuits by programing Arduino. Students go home with their circuits to wow family and friends.

Fun with DNA:

This is an elementary-level camp in DNA science. This camp is designed for highly motivated campers who are interested in expanding their knowledge of basic genetics and cell biology. Students are immersed in hands-on activities and experiments designed to increase genetic literacy, encourage critical and creative thinking, and spark interest in the field of bio-engineering and biotechnology. The week concludes with taped presentations when young campers in science become teachers and explain the week's activities.

Immunology & Pandemic:

This is an elementary-level camp in immunology. How does our body fight off illness? What is immunology and why do we care? Why do other countries' ailments affect us? This camp will jump into the world of medicine and learn how a combination of science and our body’s natural systems work together to fight illness. We will learn how immunology affects the world as a whole, as well as how disease tracking can help prevent a mass spread such as the pandemic we are experiencing right now!

Fascinating Forensics:

In the ever-inquisitive mind of a child, forensics is a learning gold mine. In this week-long course, students will learn to not only think logically, but also how to research and investigate a problem in an effective manner. Through this course, students will develop strong investigative skills that can be used across a variety of curriculum, such as essay writing. Students will build stronger people skills by learning to look beyond the surface of a problem and to investigate and consider all sides to the problem before reaching a conclusion. The week concludes with taped presentations when young campers in science become teachers and explain the week's activities.

Kiddo, enjoyed the camp. She came home with a basic understanding of DNA and genetics. The only drawback was that they spent all their time in a classroom setting and no time outside.
