Galileo Academy

Galileo Academy offers camps to the youth, during the Spring breaks in San Francisco, California. We provide both Chinese and English trainings that are used to access the core curriculum. Specific instructional strategies are implemented to ensure development of English language proficiency and similar instructional support is provided to English proficient students for the acquisition of Chinese. In our Chinese Language Arts, we aim to develop students’ reading, writing and speaking proficiency in Mandarin; have further understanding of Chinese culture, and appreciate Chinese literature, art and music. For our Modern World program, we teach students major turning points that shaped the modern world. Students are instructed to use Cantonese to do project-based activities to support their mastery of the concepts and use the Internet to do research on Chinese websites.
