Carlos Gomez has focused on both Self-Defense and Competition style Jiu-Jitsu. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu of Downtown Los Angeles. Our mission is to preserve the roots of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu while incorporating "new school" techniques to create a well-rounded martial artist.

Our Staff
Prof. Carlos Gomez- Head Instructor
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Professor and Personal Fitness trainer based in the heart of Los Angeles. With over 15 years of experience, Carlos has had the privilege of learning Gracie Jiu-jitsu from the headquarters in Torrance, California, known as the Gracie Jiu-jitsu Academy under the instruction of Rener, Ryron, Ralek and Rorion Gracie. In 2016 Carlos was awarded his Black belt from Professor Gerson Sanginitto and continues to grow as a professional Brazilian Jiu-jitsu competitor at the Gerson Sanginitto Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy out of Culver City, California.
On his grappling journey, he's competed in numerous Brazilian Jiu-jitsu tournaments which include the IBJJF World Jiu-jitsu Championship GI/ NO-GI, IBJJF Pan American Championship, Metamoris 8, Metamoris Challenger, Gracie U.S Nationals GI/ NO-GI, UFC Gym Black Belt Challenge NO-GI and several in-house invitational tournaments/ Super Fights in both his weight and open weight.
