Private one on one swim lessons are available for members and non-members. Members will have priority registration, with lessons slots available to them from the 1st to the 7th of the month, for the upcoming month's scheduling. After the 7th, non-members may register for lessons.
For semi-private lessons you must find a second swimmer at the same level. Please select the option fees at check out (member or non-member) for semi-private classes.
If you purchase 5 lessons at the same time, a discount will be automatically applied to your total.
In order to reschedule, cancelations must be done at least 24 hr. before the start of your class. Contact Anna (anna@greenmeadow.org) or Loree (loree@greenmeadow.org).
Instructors for this program:
Eugene Hsieh: Eugene has been teaching swimming lessons for four years. He has been swimming for over a decade, and has competed at the Jr. National level and two World Cups in Europe. Eugene is excited to help swimmers of all levels improve their skills and confidence in the water. Currently, Eugene is a rising 2nd year student at UC Berkeley and competes for the school's College Club team.
Joel Chen: Joel has over a decade of competitive swimming experience, specializing in the breaststroke and individual medley, and has competed at Jr. Nationals. He is a rising second-year at Amherst College and is a member of the school’s swim team. Joel is a classically trained pianist and self-taught at cello, guitar, and ukelele. He loves the movie Ratatouille!
Kaytlyn Hui: Kaytlyn has been an Instructor for 5 years. She was a competitive swimmer for 16 years. Kaytlyn believes in intuitive but structured teaching techniques and applies psychology to teaching, for a fun and effective class. She is comfortable working with children of all ages and children on the spectrum.
Nate Flesner: Nate has been swimming his entire life, competing at the national level in USA and College Club swimming. He has taught swim lessons to kids of all ages and levels. Nate is also coaching at a USA Swimming competitive team, focused on building strong foundations for the four competitive strokes --and having fun. Nate is a rising 4th year student, currently studying History, with a Japanese minor, at Cal Poly SLO.
Nessa Kmetec: Nessa has grown up at Greenmeadow, eventually becoming a C.I.T. with the Marlins to teach the younger kids and then an assistant coach. She's also had experience working as a summer camp counselor and as a private academic tutor. She's worked with kids both in and out of the water at all skill levels, and her favorite stroke is butterfly! Nessa is a recent UC Berkeley graduate, and graduated with a degree in Genetics and Plant Biology.
Nico Ogawa: Nico started swimming for the Greenmeadow Marlins at age 8 before, joining a local club team. He is a rising college freshman at Tufts University, where he will be competing for the swim team. Through his swimming career, Nico was given the honor of representing the US at the Swimming World Cup in Incheon, South Korea. Nico is very excited to share his knowledge and love for swimming with you!
Riley Hill: Riley has been teaching swimming lessons at Greenmeadow for three years. She is a very patient and enthusiastic instructor! Riley has been a Greenmeadow Marlin since she was 5 years old, and an Assistant Marlins Coach for 3 seasons. She is a recent graduate of Gunn High School.
