Honeydew Drop
Honeydew Drop Childcare Services is a Family of teachers and caregivers who like the beehive, members of it care for offspring that are not their own and have been serving the Brooklyn community since 1999. We have 5 programs in 3 different locations: Two in Park Slope & Three near Kensington (including Universal Pre-K). These programs lovingly care for children from ages 4 months to 5 years old. Honeydew is the perfect bridge between home and school with progressive Child-Centered Infant, Pre-K, and Pre-school curricula for the Whole Child.
Honeydew Drop’s curriculum has a solid foundation in early childhood development. We follow the guidelines of NAEYC’s Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs. Our curriculum gathers from many influences including Emergent curriculum, Reggio-Emilia, and Scholastic. We utilize numerous socio-emotional tools to help children be aware of their feelings, develop resiliency and grow their self-calming skills. We use research-based screening and assessment tools to help families understand their child’s developmental progress.

Our Staff
Honeydew’s staff consists of a lead teacher and assistant teachers. Our lead teachers have Bachelor in Early Child Education and some of them already have or are pursuing their Masters as well. Our assistants and aides have experience in caring for children either in a daycare setting or babysitting. The staff receives consistent training in industry conferences, colleges, as well as from trainers who facilitate workshops during our staff development days.
Our music, yoga and language educators are experts in their fields and also specialize in working with children. All Honeydew teachers are CPR/First Aid trained and Child Abuse Mandated Reporters. They renew their certificates every 2 years. They are also fingerprinted and cleared by the state.
