About
JDS Creative Academy

The mission of JDSCA is to advance education and training in the visual, performing and digital arts; theatre, music, creative writing, fine art and digital production art. JDSCA classes and programs fulfill the VAPA requirements, per the California Education Standard for k-12, the Apprenticeships standards for the State of California and the Title 17 training standards for Inland Regional, providing hands-on training to the home school, online school, traditional school, and trade school populations.

Our career pathway programs provide hands-on training in a working studio to teach collaboration, soft skills, technical skills, logistics, and more through visual, performing and digital arts.

Students will focus on stage design, props, backdrops, makeup and costuming. Students will work the backstage components to the JDS Actors Studio Winter Plays. They will learn and assist with set painting, props, costumes and more. During the semester they will make latex masks, skull caps, learn about and practice stage make up, hand stitching and alteration technique for costume & make up design.

Scott and Diane Strand, the owners of JDS Video & Media Productions started a Drama Club program which launched in the Temecula Unified School District. There was such a huge response that they decided to create an Actors Studio for all ages to learn the technique and craft of Acting, which is now known as JDS Actors Studio. The Strands felt that the Temecula Valley area would benefit from advanced education in all the Arts.
