KFS School is a place for all children who can be who they are and my son has been working with Vanessa for 8 years doing yoga. He is learning self regulation such as breathing and communication skills when he is gets upset and we have seen a ton of progress!

KFS School is a special place! They took our son and worked with him, when we felt like we had no where else to turn. They highlighted his strengths academically and set behavioral expectations for him, making sure he had a routine every day. The teachers are passionate about helping kids with challenges and go above and beyond to meet the kids needs.

Vanessa has an amazing spirit and her ability to connect with children is amazing. She dedicated herself so completely to her work and it really shows how se is able to impact so many young lives in the most positive way.

KFS School is a small loving environment where the child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The teachers understand that each child learns differently and that is where they get their needs met when it comes to their academics. You will find the children at KFS School to be way above grade level academically and at times need support with their social and emotional learning.

Vanessa dedicates everything to her students. She is very passionate in what she does and I highly recommend her school to everyone that can be apart of it.

From 3.5 years old our son was a very demanding and highly emotional little person. In many ways he terrorized our household. My husband, daughter and I walked on eggshells and gave him what he wanted because we were scared of his outbursts. Vanessa is the Baby Whisperer. She connected with our son on Avery deep level and he pours his heart out to her. She gives him and more importantly my husband and I tools to get through the emotions and the anger. She truly changed our lives for the better. Two years later we still see her once a month because it really helps re-center and give our boy a tuneup. If he’s struggling we call Vanessa. She’s amazing. We’ve recommended her to so many friends who struggle and just need a little help. Having her wise and objective counsel has helped us become better parents.

I've been working with Vanessa directly with a child at my school. Vanessa is passionate about social emotional learning and has brought in her techniques from KFS School to mine. We have seen growth from not only the child she works with but other children who come her around her when she is working directly with her client.

The Director, Vanessa, and her team are creative, patient, and provide educational experiences to children that are innovative and fun! This includes children like mine, who many “educators” think have no interest in learning.

A nurturing environment for kids who learn differently. The STEAM camp integrates social emotional learning with fun hands on activities and outings.

I wish i knew about this earlier. Wow! This is absolutely such a great school and experience for the kids. Vanessa is absolutely the best person to bring the kids together for a learning environment. KFS School uses unique behavioral management paradigms and early interventionist techniques to support children with learning and behavioral differences. When I worked at KFS, a behavioral outbreak could occur at any moment, so I learned to effectively manage students in a way that calmed them down but also made them feel cared for and supported. When they got upset, I would encourage them to think constructively and guide them towards a positive self-image. The difference at KFS is long-term positive self-thought. The way that we teach and manage creates lasting growth and happiness. The program at KFS targets each child's social, emotional, and academic need. The founding principles of KFS allow for long-lasting change.

A place for those kiddos that just aren't blending in like society tells them to. It is a place where they can both be themselves and learn skills to be successful.

I have worked with KFS School on numerous occasions and the warm and positive atmosphere keeps me coming back. After working alongside the amazing founder Vanessa Kahlon, I completed my service learning requirement at the University of San Francisco as an intern at the school, which KFS is a partner of. Each child at KFS School has individual learning plans that ensure social emotional growth paired with academics. The school is open to all children with various backgrounds.

This school focuses on each child’s individual socio-emotional needs in a caring, supportive, environment. It’s more like a loving family, making it easier for kids to feel safe and actually learn.

Vanessa has been working with our 4 year old son bi-weekly for the past year. He had a difficult time adjusting to pre-school. He had limited interaction with his peers and had a difficult time following rule and instructions. In the time that he has worked with Vanessa, we have seen a massive improvement in his social and behavior skills. He loves Vanessa and looks forward to seeing her every week. We are very thankful that we found her and her services. We would highly recommend her.

My son has been at KFS for a year and I am stunned at the progress he has made, under the guidance of Vanessa, the school’s founder, and the fantastic staff. For the first time, my son actually wants to go to school!

At KFS, whether school or camp, the kids aren’t students, they’re friends. The kids get to use kinetic desks, their own space, a multitude of keyboards, plenty of time and space outdoors, and even yoga.

The student-to-teacher ratio – 1:1 attention for each child – has made all the difference. I have seen the teachers make magic out of conflict, and I am truly impressed by how deftly they negotiate moments of stress; how closely connected each child is with each teacher; and how close the kids have grown as a group.

My son has been attending KFS School for the last 3 years, including the STEAM Summer Camp. He is an incredibly bright and sweet kid who was miserable at traditional mainstream schools. I'm incredibly impressed with KFS School, not only do I see my child developing, but most importantly, he's happier and he's at a place where they accept him and work with him to bring out his best.
