About
Kids Connection

Kids Connection Elementary is an academically challenging, well-rounded kindergarten through 5th grade school that inspires our students to become their greatest selves. Our curriculum, together with exceptional teachers and low class size, provides the ideal environment for the strong academic base that our students receive. This is why our students have consistently tested in the top 1% nationwide. This commitment to excellence extends to our camps as well. Our summer program is one of a kind, rooted in our philosophy of bringing together the perfect balance of mind and body.

Our Summer Camp mornings are  full of a review of basic skills while introducing new ideas through literature, science, and social studies taught by our wonderful counselors. As part of our Summer Camp, we also offer week long Specialty Programs where campers can sign up to learn about special topics!  Class runs Monday - Thursday mornings, and then campers continue into summer camp for the afternoons and Fridays.  This is the best of both worlds of learning about a specialty topic and enjoying the fun of summer camp!  For those looking for a more academic foundation we offer a 4-week Summer School program taught by our elementary teachers.  Our afternoons are filled with swimming, enrichment classes, sports, field trips, and much more. We thrive on letting our curiosity loose, reaching for the stars, asking not why, but what if. Our summer programs are for students who will be entering 1st through 5th grades.

During the school year we offer camps during winter break, spring break, and most other days that the school is closed. We pack these days with activities, games and field trips.  These camps are offered for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

All of our camps and summer school are available to the public, with registration priority given to Kids Connection students.

Our Staff

At Kids Connection we spend a significant amount of time finding the best teachers, staff and counselors to run our camp programs. The Director of our Camps and After School, Mrs. Nancy Barbi, has been in this role for over 10 years and has been a teacher in our Elementary School for over 19 years.  She understands how to build and maintain a safe, fun and enriching program.  She, along with Angelina DiMatteo (Manager of Camps and Physical Education) and our team of counselors work tirelessly to maintain the high standards to which Kids Connection families are accustom. All of our staff must pass background checks prior to employment and all are certified in both CPR and First-Aid.  We provide continued in-house training to ensure that safety, supervision and an attention to the details that make our program so rewarding is reinforced for all of our staff.

I would highly recommend your program to any and everyone who are looking for programs for their kids. My daughter really loved the animation class with Davy Liu. She learned so much about animation and group collaboration. She walked away from the class encouraged and motivated by Davy Liu. Her passion for art has grown immensely. Thank you Activity Hero!

My daughter (10yr) had a great time working with other kids to create an animation film. Not only did she learn behind the scene works such as creating the characters and building the storyline, she also learned about teamwork, team leadership, and time management. Davy is a great instructor and my daughter is inspired by him to believe in herself that she can do more.

The teacher was really good and engaging, which can be hard for a Zoom class. She taught the fundamentals of web programming using a WYSIWYG editor. My kid was very happy to create a website for the first time. Best to do this class in conjunction with the Intro to JavaScript class, as they complement each other.

Questions & Answers
Can this class be done with a Chromebook? (Intro: Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) -

Thank you for your interest in our summer programs and for your question. For some of the other camps that we offer, the Chromebook is fine. But for the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning camp we recommend using a Windows or Mac computer. This camp requires some specific libraries and most of the online editors (which you have to use when on a Chromebook) will not be able to provide the required level of support. -
Is this Creative Writing for grade 3-4 or 4-5? The title says 3-4 and in the right panel above the "Add to Cart" it says 4-5. (Creative Writing Class (Gr 3-4)) -

Thanks for your question. We have many options for onsite camp this summer ranging from traditional camp activities to specialty programs. We follow all guidance regarding COVID-19 protocols, including campers assigned to a maximum group size of 12 which do not co-mingle with other groups or share equipment, restrooms, etc. If you have additional questions, please feel free to ask on Activity Hero or contact me directly at jjennings@kc4us.com. It shows program is for kids from 1st grade. Dose this mean “Kids become 1st grade after summer (currently kinder)” or “Kids become 2nd grade after summer (currently 1st grade)”? Please kindly advise. (Summer School + Camp 2020 (4 weeks))

Hello. We offer many programs this summer, some of which have grade level requirements. Our traditional camp and summer school is offered for grades of graduated Kindergarteners-4th graders (entering 1st through 5th in Fall 2020). Some of our specialty programs have grade level requirements which are labeled in the descriptions and you will also find that during registration the grade level is restricted. Please feel free to post more questions or email me directly. I apologize for the late response. Thank you! Joanne Jennings Internet & Operations Manager -
