LearnUp Summer Reading Sprints Are Built For You!

Our Summer Reading Sprints program is designed for busy families like yours as we conduct our tutoring sessions virtually and have many time slots available.

There's no reason to choose between improving your child's reading and enjoying a great summer vacation. Our summer Reading Sprints program is designed for busy families like yours. This summer, LearnUp can meet your family's needs through either virtual or in-person tutoring sessions, and we have many time slots available.

Our Summer Reading Sprints are one-week-long, self-contained programs allowing families to sign-up week by week and at times that fit their child's availability. All the summer reading sessions can be conducted over Zoom, which also means your child can continue tutoring regardless of their summer location.

Our structured literacy program can teach students with or without a diagnosis of dyslexia to read in about 80 hours. Our goal is to teach your child to read, not just learn how to decode or make reading "progress". Our vision is for all of our students to become beach readers, a reader who reads because they can and want to.

Our Staff

All of our tutors are certified in LearnUp's Structured Literacy program by Steve Tattum, the founder of our reading program and LearnUp's Reading Director. Each tutor goes through an extensive training program and after a 60-hour supervised practicum meets with Steve T. for their certification exam. Steve wants to hire, train, and certify tutors who meet his high expectations for teaching reading using his program.

LearnUp seeks out and hires tutors who are great with kids, particularly students who have Learning Differences and who have the potential to become excellent reading tutors.

Steve has been teaching kids to read for over 40 years. He developed the Tattum Reading Program and is partnering with LearnUp to scale his successful curriculum with more students and schools in the Bay Area and beyond.
