About
Lost Boyz Inc. is a nonprofit organization engaged in violence prevention through positive youth development. Our programming is structured around organized youth baseball in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, and supplemented with educational tutoring and civic engagement activities. The organization was founded in 2008 by an area resident concerned with the emerging anti-social behavioral patterns impacting local boys. In 2014, the organization extended its services to include girls. Lost Boyz now services approximately 120 local youth and young adults between the ages of 4 and 24, through evidence-based programs derived from the Sports Based Youth Development Theory (SBYD), Positive Youth Development Theory (PYD,) and Developmental Systems Theory (DST), with an emphasis on sports inclusion.
