Overview

Student-Teacher Ratio 6:1

This course will introduce the student to Fusion 360 CAD, a software program where they can draw simple parts and objects in 3D. CAD = Computer Aided Design. With the 3D design the students can go on to make a keychain on a 3d Printer, furniture on the CNC Shopbot Router, a sign on the laser cutter, or a bottle opener on the CNC Mill. Fusion 360 by Autodesk is a great CAD software due to its low cost for makers and hobbyists.

After the class, students will become confident to design basic parts and tinker on their own, or go on to more advanced classes to learn how to create more intricate designs.

My daughter love this class, her instructor Jeff is a great teacher. After class, we also stayed a little bit longer to start printing the little car she designed. She is amazed with the 3D printer fascinated by all the cool stuff in the facility. Can't wait to join more classes there.

Wei, thanks for the great feedback! Jeff's gentle approach can be such an asset in classes with our younger makers. I'm glad that your daughter had such a good time here!
Questions & Answers
How will Covid concerns be handled? Will there be social distancing in the form of reduced classes and mandatory masks?

We are following all of the County guidelines to keep everyone as safe as possible. We will be enforcing social distancing, as well as requiring masks at all times indoors. We've set up additional work space dedicated to students to give them more room to socially distance. We've limited camp enrollments as well, and will only be offering a single camp each week (typically we have 2-3 camps in various subjects running concurrently). The health and safety of our students and staff is our #1 concern, and we especially want to make sure students have a safe experience here. -

Thank you for your interest,We are working hard on getting the classes online. We have a schedule, but still need to finalize the write ups and photos. Target is to have all set by end of this coming week: There will be a mix of camps from Textiles, robotics, electronics, woodworking and laser/3d printing for a variety of ages. The week of July 4th will be day camps with a different theme each day - those are posted for sign ups already. -
