The Manhattan College Summer Day Camp offers a truly unique experience, combining the vast resources of a higher education institution with learning-based activities that will keep children engaged all day!
The camp will take place on the Manhattan College campus at our convenient New York City location. Campers will have access to Manhattan College resources such as classrooms, computer labs and our five-story library.
This program combines fun with learning as kids participate in activities designed to help them develop skills, try out hobbies and make long-lasting friendships. Children will expand their creativity through art, math, science, technology, as well as learning a number of important critical thinking skills in the process.
Arts
Children will participate in different arts activities that they aren’t necessarily exposed to in school. Children will create several projects and expose their creativity into new types of art forms such as graphic design, drawing, painting and photo editing, as well as the art mediums students are already familiar with.
Science
Children will be introduced to the basic topics of science through engaging activities and hands-on experiments. Our science activities will develop the child’s scientific thinking and point of view.
Computer/Coding
Children will expand their skills in computer applications that will prepare them in for the rapid advancement in technology. Through interactive and exciting projects, these fun activities will help increase children’s understanding of past to modern technology. Campers will enjoy playing and learning coding with ozobot and sphero.
Math
Children are exposed to math activities to better understand related math concepts. Children will foster their reasoning and problem solving skills through fun and creative activities.
Theater
Children will prepare scenes or a full story based on their age range once a week. Campers will learn the different roles in putting together a theater performance. Through fun activities, campers will be able to present a short performance every Friday in collaboration with their peers. Children will be able to participate on roles of assistant director, props, effects, actor, actress, dancer, and similar positions.
