Student-Teacher Ratio 6:1
This program is geared toward students who are interested in competing in speech and debate with a middle or high school team. Coaches will teach students about the different events offered by the California High School Speech Association. Students will learn about the three categories of speech (interpretation, platform/original, and limited prep) and three debate formats (Lincoln-Douglas, Parliamentary, and Public Forum).
Students will practice beginner-level competition skills, including speech-writing, case construction, research, flowing, cross-examination, and rebuttal. The morning session will focus on speech, and the afternoon session will focus on debate. Camp will culminate in a mini-tournament on Friday.
Co-enroll in Advanced Competitive Speech & Debate to focus on a specific event and continue skill building!
