After a long search for an advanced programming mentor for my son, I came across NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC). We got to know Vazi Okhandiar, the founder of the center. She assessed my son’s computer programming skills and soon recommended him to obtain an Oracle Certification. At the time, we had never heard about it nor knew that it was possible for a minor to take it. Luckily, my son met the minimum age requirement of 13. At age 15 he passed the OCA (Oracle Certified Associate) exam. Soon after that he stepped up and passed the Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer (OCPJP) exam, which is a more advanced level of certification. He is now recognized by Oracle Corporation as an Oracle Certified Professional. Had it not been for Vazi, we would not have known about this rewarding opportunity. We are incredibly grateful to her. She is a great mentor. Not only is she passionate about computer science, but also genuinely wants to see her students to be successful in this field.
NRCLC also provides opportunities for students to get volunteer hours as a TA. Through this volunteer program, my son was able to be a TA for NRCLC’s AP Computer Science class held in UCI as well as other NRCLC classes.
We have been going to NRCLC for all my son’s testing needs. The facility is in a professional setting: clean and quiet. We thank you Vazi for all of your guidance and care!
