RAMONA CAMP is a summer day camp for boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grade. The camp is held on the beautiful grounds of Ramona Convent Secondary School in Alhambra.

Children can learn and play in a serene setting, with picnic areas, swimming pool, gymnasium, biking and hiking trails, gentle hills, and lots of trees. Unlike other local summer camps which take place in a public park setting, Ramona Camp is located on a private school campus, completely surrounded by gates, and with security guards.

Remember the fun of simpler days? Well, those days are back! Kids love exploring our trails, mastering scavenger hunts, and even putting on their own talent shows. Each week will have a different theme, and the weekly activities will correspond to that theme. Examples of past themes have included "Animal Week", "Sports and Competition Week", and the ever popular "Water week." We are hoping to conduct field trips, on a walking basis, but this is yet to be determined. (Field trips will be for FULL TIME campers only.)

BIKING is a big part of Camp Ramona. Some campers learn to ride for the first time, while others are introduced to the fun of mountain biking. Our trails offer different levels of difficulty for all skill abilities. Children bring their own bikes to Camp, and may store them here in a secure location throughout their stay with us.

SWIMMING is the all-time favorite “cool” activity. Our certified lifeguards and counselors keep non-swimmers in the shallow end. Private swim lessons are also offered for an additional fee. Other fun alternative activities are offered in the gymnasium during swim time for those who may choose not to swim

GAMES:  We have so many! Younger kids like to dress up and use their imagination. Puzzle solvers like to learn chess and play checkers, while the LEGOS are always popular also. There’s always tennis, basketball, and arts and crafts. Roller blading, skating, ping pong, air hockey, and caroms have been an added attraction in recent years. Kids have fun being active while learning. Counselors are trained to respect the individual child’s ability and comfort zone.

HOURS:

Camp Ramona operates Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00. Half-day sessions and 3-day-a-week sessions are also available. All sessions are one week long. Camp will be closed on Monday, July 5th, 2021. Please see our Registration page for the various programs, and their respective fees.
