Camp Overview
It is fun to control robot! Your child will master the fundamentals of coding, robotics, and geometry while playing with a Sphero robot. They will compete and solve challenges by controlling a Sphero robot with programs.

Your child will learn fundamentals of programming. They will experiment with the process of breaking down a goal into actionable steps and reconstruct those steps into a program with visual programming. Your child will also learn the basics of robotics such as the concept of sensor data feedback based on real-time controls and moment controls.

In this camp, your child will also learn logical and critical thinking, spatial reasoning, and competitive math skills with a fully personalized tablet-based program. There are many fun quizzes that your child will love!

What students will learn

• ​How to control a Sphero robot with programs and a remote
• Fundamentals of programming - loops, branches, and event-driven programming
• Real-time programming with feedback from sensors in the Sphero robot
• Geometry such as shapes, angles, and polygons
• Critical thinking

Examples of challenges

• ​Draw polygons with a loop
• Detect bumps and change the courses
• Readout robot's gyrosensor (pitch, yaw, and roll)
• Create games with LED and sound control, random number and accelerometer readout
• Go through maze
  

This camp uses Sphero robots and develops programs for them.
