About
Russell Wilson Passing Academy
The Russell Wilson Passing Academy (RWPA) is a football camp for all positions. The purpose of this camp is to help children ages 8-17 develop the fundamental skills of being a great football player through instruction, but our objective is much greater. The RWPA exists to promote the mental and physical development of youth, with the goal of encouraging kids to develop high character and moral standards, a sense of competitiveness and fair play, a respect for authority, service to others, and a love of God, family, and country. In that spirit, the RWPA welcomes inner-city and underprivileged youth to the camp through sponsorships, giving them a much-needed and valuable opportunity to learn the game of football and compete.

I honestly had no idea Russell Wilson actually attended these camps. I signed my son up because I wanted him to have a skills camp between spring and fall football seasons. RW actually being there was just a cool plus for my son. As far as the skills camp goes my son has been playing for 7 years and has gone to many camps. This one had a very good coach/player ratio. My son had more one on one interaction with the coaches here than in many camps he's experienced. The whole vibe about the camp was just so upbeat, positive and fun! I loved that. The down side is that the drills are all very, very basic. If a child is new to the game this would be a top pick for camps, honestly. If a child has experience though, this camp is not going to give them much in the way of football skills, but is still a great camp. As far as RW, all I can say is that I am simply amazed at how much attention he is able to give the kids considering there are hundreds of them and only one of him. I did not see that man stop running from one group to the next. Although the skills part wasn't quite what I hoped for my son, who is an advanced player, this camp proved to be one of his favorites because he took something more important than football skills from it. RW spoke to the whole group of campers and his words were so inspirational, reminding my son that football is still fun and that there are so many lessons that carry from the field into real life. So bottom line, if your child is new to the game this is absolutely the best pick for a camp. The individual attention given during the drills coupled with RW running around and his upbeat, positive message will make any kid love the game and motivate them in so many ways. If your child is an experienced player this is a good place for them to remember the fun that comes with the game, find inspiration and motivation and be a bit star struck showing off their mad skills to an idol, RW.

The only real improvement I can see is with check in. It was a mess to get through with lines everywhere and people not sure where they were supposed to be or where to go. Even so, all kids were on the field by the appointed start time. It was all in all just such a great experience for my son!

Great experience! I felt compelled to leave a good review because force of nature is we only leave reviews when they are bad. I think the entire experience was great. Well worth the money. We went to the U of W football camp and there were a ton of kids but plenty of coaches. Russell made himself available to the kids and drills as well as pictures and questions. It is difficult to satisfy everyone but my kid had fun and it was great memories! The only suggestion I would have is to be more organized at check-in and more volunteers to communicate. When you walked up to the line you didn't know what was going on. They could streamline check in process.

Unfortunately my son was not able to attend this camp. I paid the full amount in 2015 and for a specific date. My husband took the day off of work to drive 3 hours away to be at the camp, to find out the camp had been moved to a different date and we were not notified. I contacted the RWPA and they refused to reimburse me and told me it was my fault as they sent out emails, mind you I never received an email from them, and we were not the only family that showed up to the camp the day we had registered for. They finally agreed to credit me for a future camp, so I wouldn't lose out on the money paid. This year came, and I never heard from anyone from the camp. I had to contact them myself, and I asked if the camp that was taking place only 20 minutes from my house my child could attend instead of us making the drive 3 hours away to attend a camp. I was told no, because that camp was already full, but that my son would be able to attend one of the other camps 3 hours away. When I picked the date and let them know, they told me that I would have to pay an additional $50 for my son to attend. Of course, I asked why when I was supposed to be credited the money I already paid and could not receive back. The response was because "the price of the camp this year has increased." So I emailed them back and let them know that I would not be paying any more money towards the camp, we already have spend the initial cost, and now they are asking for more money. Needless to say, they have kept my money from the previous year, won't reimburse me, and my son misses out on the camp now for a second year in a row. I will not recommend this camp to anyone. Not only was the experience awful, but the staff was not friendly either, and trying to blame me for their mistakes. Horrible Horrible organization, and not worth it.
