I, Brooke Mitschang, am a dedicated educator with a lifelong passion for learning. I have enjoyed the opportunity to be a part of different learning teams across a variety of schools and camps that cared for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and elementary children in Kinder through 6th grade in Santa Cruz, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, and El Cerrito. Over the last 15 years, I have earned a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, an MA in Education, as well as a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit.
My goal is to nurture children’s academic and social development through meaningful connections with each other and nature. I love to inspire compassion and boost confidence, encouraging creativity and curiosity to stimulate a love of learning. My work is guided by my commitment to my core value: empowering kindness. I cultivate a mindful community that is both kind and safe, to nourish the development of empathetic learners who enjoy exploring different tools and resources to problem-solve.
My professional journey has led me to create a program that facilitates meaningful relationships with children and families in connection to nature. I offer literacy and science instruction for a small mixed age group of elementary children through authentic, hands-on learning experiences outdoors.
