Social Detective Academy

Socials skills classes are a rarity despite social skills being essential. I was thankful to have found this one, they had good topics and examples, encouraged participation and I would recommend it for kids that need help developing these skills.

This is a well run and much needed group! My son loves listening to the social mystery and then learning about ways to solve the problem. He always looks forward to the zoom meetings.

Dr. Jeff has really found a way to get to both of my boys. Something about the group and Dr. Jeff's way of relating to them opened them up. They really are taking in what he's teaching them

Alex really loves going to group, he has made new friends and I see him using his social detective skills at home with the family.

Dr. Jessum's group has really helped my son be more competent socially. And he seems to be much more at ease having tools he can use when interacting with other kids.

My daughter (7yrs) LOVES the 'Diary of a Social Detective'. It is seriously one of her most dog-eared books, as she has read it over and over since she got it. We were overjoyed when we heard about this camp. How exciting that they have turned this way of teaching socio-emotional skills into practical classes.

I know the book was originally designed for kids 'on the spectrum' but my neuro-typical daughter thinks it is fab, too - and learns a lot from it. We have recommended it to many of our friends who have also found it both fun and educational.

I have already recommended this camp to all my Bay Area friends, too, as I think it is going to be amazing!
