My child attended 1 quarter of Soo Dance (From Sept to Dec) with high hopes for dance passion, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. Not only did they overcharge parents, but the level of service provided was disappointingly poor.
Firstly, the fees charged were exorbitant, far beyond what could be justified by the quality of dance instruction. It felt like a blatant money grab, with little regard for the financial strain it put on families. They do not disclose the extra (rehearsal, Video, photos) fees upfront And right before the stage performance, they asked for mandatory $100 for the 2 extra practice classes.
You have to pay $84 for the funky costume which your child will never use again.
They charged around $80 for the photographs and video of the performance. The photos and videos are taken from distance where you cannot even view your child dancing. Then they charge close to $40 for the ticket to watch the performance!!! Overall, they extract more than $1000 for 12 classes

Even more disappointing was the lack of availability of the teacher. The assigned instructor was hardly available throughout the 12 week session. There was always a substitute who didn't know the choreography. She would make the kids dance on random songs which were not even part of their final performance.
The final outcome was only 1 partial song, poorly choregraphed!!

To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff towards brown people was downright appalling. This created a toxic atmosphere that was not conducive to learning or personal development.

In addition to the overt racism, the general demeanor of the staff was rude and dismissive. Any concerns or complaints brought to their attention were met with hostility and defensiveness, making it clear that they had little interest in addressing issues or improving the quality of their service.

Overall, my experience with Soo Dance school was incredibly disappointing and disheartening. I would strongly advise against enrolling your child in this establishment unless you're prepared to endure overcharging, unreliable scheduling, and the distress of encountering racism and rudeness.
