South Pasadena Music Center and Conservatory
South Pasadena Music Center & Conservatory offers private lessons and classes in the European classical tradition, combined with cutting edge instruction in jazz, rock and modern music. We are dedicated to serving students of all levels and ages by providing a rich and exciting learning environment where music can grow and flourish.
We provide a fun, encouraging learning environment for students of all levels, ages, and goals. Our students have gone on to prestigious institutions including USC’s Thornton School of Music, Berklee School of Music and Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Rock Band 101 is the prerequisite class for developing that exact skill set needed to participate in Rock Band.
Our Staff
David Greiman was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He began studying classical repertoire at the age of 7 and performing in bands as a pianist and drummer from the age of 15. As a teenager, he founded the Young Lions of Jazz Quartet – which performed all around the area – as well as the R&B act Mosaic and drumming in rock bands. In high school, he received All-District and All-State jazz band honors.
Afterward, he was accepted to USC Thornton School of Music where he majored in Jazz Piano (and Political Science), studying with renowned pianists Shelly Berg, Alan Pasqua, and Russ Ferrante. Since moving to Los Angeles, David has played and recorded in a variety of ensembles – including jazz groups (Jazz Three O), rock ‘n’ roll bands (Absolute Stereo), and hip hop projects (Paul Dateh) – as well as composing and producing original music.
